INSPIRING YOUNG WOMEN TO CREATE CONSERVATION CHANGE
SASC is passionate about training young women pursuing careers in STEM through our Women in Shark Science Program. Science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) remain male-dominated fields. But we are working to change how women are represented in marine science. Each year we hold a global competition and select 7 promising young women to join our team for 1-month of focused training. In November these incredible women fly to South Africa and learn what it means to be a woman in the field. Leading up to November, competition winners takeover our social media channel, engage with people around the world and change perceptions about sharks.
