SEPTEMBER 2007















  • Expedition with the African Coelacanth Ecosystem Programme (ACEP) and the Sustainable Seas Trust (SST) to Tanga, Tanzania.  The purpose of this expedition was to obtain baseline information to support the development of marine protected areas off the Tanga region.  SASC was part of the voucher specimen and curation team & high-resolution mapping team.  SASC also assisted with all aspects of data management and GIS.

AUGUST 2007


















  • The Great White Shark Festival: SASC assisted with the coordination of marine science and educational activities for the Festival which was held in Gansbaai (Kleinbaai) on August 18-19, 2007.
  • Encouraged the development of a co-management strategy in the Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park - a World Heritage Site - near Sodwana Bay, South Africa.
